HR:User Type = HR User
This is necessary to allow the Inventory responsibility to
complete the
organization setup. Setting the profile to a
value of 'User' as opposed to
'Payroll & User' will restrict
the Inventory user from accessing any
Payroll information
if Oracle Payroll is installed.
HR: Business Group = {the users Business Group name}
This points the responsibility to the appropriate Business
Group. When multiple
Business Groups are defined, you
must associate each responsibility with one
and only one
Business Group. A responsibility cannot see organization
data from
more than one Business Group.
Navigation :
System Administrator → Profile → System
Attach our business group to HR Security Profile .
Under ‘HR Cross Business Group ‘ Profile Select ‘yes ‘ .
Profile option:"HR:Cross Business Group
This user profile option:
- Enables benchmark jobs to be selected from other business groups
- Issues an error about the uniqueness of job names across all business groups
- Enforces that there can only be one master job group
- Enables global competencies and rating scales to be created.
- Controls whether users can select people from other business groups in the following fields:
- Absence: authorizing person, replacement person
- Applicant Assignment: recruiter, supervisor, referred by Assignment: supervisor
- Requisitions and Vacancies: requisition raised by, recruiter
- Recruitment Activity: authorized by, internal contact
- Events: event participants, internal contact person
- Employee review: reviewers
- Termination: accepted by
Set to Yes if users need to share this information across all business groups.Set to No if users only work with the information defined for one business group.
The default is No. "

Clear walkthrough — the HR: Business Group and HR: Cross Business Group profile options are the settings people always miss during setup, and restricting the Inventory responsibility from payroll info with HR: User Type = 'User' is a great catch. These same profile values feed employee self-service portals, which is what end users actually interact with daily.
